GLAM GAB!
Whats the coolest fashion trend today? styles from the groovin' seventies! Bell-bottoms, platform boots and TIE DYING! The cool thing about tie dying is that you can do it yourself right in the comfort of your own home! Heres how:
You will need:
1) a cotton T shirt
2) dyes from a craft store or kit
3) rubber bands
4) rubber gloves
5) plastic rubish bag
6) bucket or sink
A. Saturate the T shirt in tap water and then wring it dry.
B. Roll or pleat the the shirt into a long tube. Tie with rubber bands at two inch intervals.
C. Soak the bundle in hot tap water in a sick or bucket for 20 minutes. Add a cup of salt. This will help the die set better.
D. Put on rubber gloves. Squirt dye into the fabric between the bands. Make sure the dye gets into the folds too.
E. Put the bundle into a plastic rubbish bag and let it stand for 24 hours.
F.Put on the gloves and rinse the bundle under tap water until the water runs clear. Cut of the rubber bands
G. Wash the shirt in a washing machine with hot water then hang dry!
Far out! Youve made your very own genuine tie-dyed T shirt! ENJOY

GIRLTALK!
Dear Girl-talk,
My roomate is a total slob! The other day i came home and found an open bag of crisps spilling on to her bed! Her dirty clothes pile is so high its casting a shadow over my computer! She even airs her stinky trainers on the windowsill- next to my budding african violet plants! What should i do?

Dear Grossed out,
All i have got to say is GET REAL GIRL! who were you hopiong to room with? Mrs clean? and as long as your roomie offers you some crisps who cares if they have taken the place of her bed spread? but okay if finding pretzels in your slipper is getting a bit too much, heres a tip. Sit down with your roomie and tell her how you feel. Then offer to help her shop for plastic containers to hold her crunchy munchies. and if that doesnt work - mention you saw a giant cockroah on her toothbrush! that oughta do it!

to 'grossed out': i agree with naina--you definitely need to speak with your roommate. you didnt specify if you were in a dorm & didnt have a choice who your roomie would be or if youre sharing a place with a friend. obviously it would be easier to talk to this person if you are already friends, but either way you need to do it. whoever anyone lives with, whether a spouse, friend, etc.......there are always diffences so i am sure there are things that you do that your roomie does not like. she may even be being a pig just to spite you! have that talk & negotiate & both of you set some ground rules for eachother. if you cannot come to a compromise to where both of you will be happy, then you have an even bigger problem. TO NAINA ALSO:---you say who cares if the crisps are spilling onto the roomies bed?-----------BUGS, INSECTS CARE!! just because the food may be on her bed, dont think for a second that they are staying just on her side of the room. they will be (if not already) throughout the entire room, including in your clothes, food, bed, et al......i say clean out or move out! good luk
